Treaty of Irenor
The treaty of Irenor went through 2 revisions. One signed in Year 135 of the first age (1A135) and a second signing upon the inception of the second age (2A0).
The First Treaty of Irenor
The First treaty was signed in 1A135 and was signed by:
- Ayesha, the Summer Queen
- Urk, The Goblin Lord
- High Lord Landar of the Elven Realms
The treaty ensured the protection of both Eru and Fae by forbidding any armies from entering the forest.
A common critique made by political scholars, such as Idra Snowflame, at the time of the treaty is that the treaty lacked any body to enforce it. If the elves broke the treaty, the Fae and Goblins would have no way to lean on the treaty and would be forced to defend themselves. The Eru could band together against the elves, and perhaps defend their homes, but they already could before the treaty. Idra denounced the treaty as a "performative treaty without any political will behind it" and proposed the forming of a faction he called "Guardians of the Eru and Fae". His writings would later become instrumental to the forming of the Faeguard near the end of the end of the first age
The Second Treaty of Irenor
The second treaty, signed in 1A993 had as goal to be an improved version of the first by making some of the changes proposed by Idra Snowflame in his Political performance and naiveté - The treaty of Irenor (1A135) :
- The Faeguard was formed and given the authority to protect the forest and uphold the treaty.
- Icnar, representing Metiria was a signatory of the treaty and promised to intervene if the treaty was broken again.
- A legal precedent was set with the execution of Taruin
The signatories of the second treaty were as follows: - Emperor Icnar of Metiria
- High Lord Fonithril of the Elven Realms
- Summer Queen Ayesha of the Eru-Fae
- High Commander Grix of the Fae-guard
